Weekly Reflection – Data privacy and Consent!

The video does a great job of summarizing what data privacy is and why it is important. It is clear and accessible; however, it does use advanced vocabulary that may not be able to be understood by everyone. It emphasizes why protecting personal information is essential in our ever-changing digital world. It shows how typical online actions, such as browsing online and using apps, generate personal data. I like how the video did not just break down what personal data is, but also what the potential risks are when your privacy is not protected. These potential risks can include targeting manipulation, identity theft, and loss of control over personal information. It encourages viewers to take control of protecting their data by being mindful of what they share! Overall, I think this is really important for people to know and be aware of when consuming content online, browsing, and doing everyday digital tasks.
